Metric Socket Cap Screws

Metric Socket Cap Screws are a family of hex socket drive screws with Button, Flat, Low and Socket heads. Socket Head Cap Screws have coarse and fine machine screw threads and differ from inch series because three strength grades are available—Class 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9—so always check the Class of the Socket Head Cap Screw you are replacing. Button, Flat and Low heads are available with coarse machine screw threads only and can be supplied as Class 8.8, 10.9 or both. However, these three head types are not intended for high-strength bolting applications per ISO 898-1—Class 10.9 is manufactured to improve the wear resistance of the hex socket recess and not to increase their strength. Recessed mounting and close spacing are possible because they are all internally wrenched.
