Tube Clamps
Tube clamps are used to fasten small pipes and tubing to surfaces. They also function as cable clamps to secure wires, wiring looms and cables. These metal loop clamps have two overlapping tabs with holes for mounting with a single screw, and a black vinyl coating cushions, insulates and protects the tubing and cables from abrasion. Two terms—"clamps" and "clips"—are used synonymously to identify these parts. Tube clamps are also known as:
cable clamps, cable clips, loom clamps, loop clamps, P clips, tubing clamps, wire clamps, wire clips, wiring clamps.
Tube clamp size is based on their clamping diameter, which typically ranges from 1/4" to 3/4" for light duty, and 1/4" to 4" for heavy duty types.
Heavy duty clamps are made from metal that is wider and thicker than that used for light duty clamps. Both types are plated to resist corrosion.
To install, slip the tube clamp over the tube or cable and screw the clamp in place.
