Metric Pins

Metric Cotter Pins are longitudinally split and one pin extends beyond the other. Used to lock the position of components, spreading the prongs retains the pin. Reuse of these low-cost pins is not recommended due to bend point fractures of the prongs that can lead to untimely failures.

Metric Dowel Pins are precise diameter solid and headless pins used for part alignment and as hinges and shafts and roller bearings. Also called Parallel Pins, common tolerances are m6, h6 and h8. Pull Out Dowel Pins, which are used in blind holes, have internal threads at one end to facilitate removal while a flat or small groove along their length vents trapped air.

Metric Slotted Spring Pins are low cost, headless and hollow single turn rolled pins with a lengthwise slot. They compress as they are installed in a slightly smaller diameter hole. Continuous pressure holds parts in place and compensates for larger hole tolerances. They are also known as Expansion Pins, Roll Pins, Split Pins and Tension Pins.
